You can read every story without an account. We do not use advertising trackers. Our servers keep standard request logs (such as IP address and time) for security and to prevent abuse.

Your theme choice

If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. It is never sent to us.

Corrections and rejoinders

When you use the correction or rejoinder form we store your name, the email address or phone number you give, your message, the story it concerns and the time. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated submissions. We use these details only to handle your request and, for rejoinders, to publish your response. We never publish your contact details.

How long we keep it

Submissions are kept for as long as the story they concern is published, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of dispute. Request logs are kept for a short period.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you by writing to us.
