Corrections & Rejoinders
If a Kokonsa story is wrong, or you are named in one and want to respond, tell us. Every submission flags the story straight away.
Two ways to respond
- Correction: a fact in the story is wrong, out of date or wrongly attributed.
- Rejoinder: you, or an organisation you represent, are named in a story and want your response published alongside it, consistent with the right of reply under Article 162(6) of the 1992 Constitution.
How to submit
Open the story and choose Request a correction / Submit a rejoinder at the end of the article. Tell us your name, an email address or phone number, and what is wrong or what you want to say.
What happens next
- The story is flagged the moment your submission arrives.
- For a rejoinder, the story is marked Disputed and a note is added that the story is disputed by the party concerned. Your rejoinder is appended to the story.
- Corrections are checked against the original reporting. Confirmed errors are fixed, the change is noted on the story, and the update time changes.
- We may contact you using the details you provide. We do not publish your contact details.
What we cannot do
We do not remove accurate reporting because it is unwelcome. Because Kokonsa synthesises the reporting of other outlets, a correction may also need to be raised with the outlet that first reported the fact.
