What's disputed / unconfirmed

  • Reports differ on when Dreams FC meet Hearts of Oak. The GFA appointments as carried by MyNewsGH and SportsWorldGhana place it on Sunday, 4 October, while The Ghanaian Chronicle says Saturday, 3 October at 15:00.
  • The Ghanaian Chronicle names Bibiani Gold Stars as Vision FC's opponent in Tema and gives Saturday, 3 October in its text but Sunday, 4 October at 15:00 in its fixture list. The other reports list GoldStars as the opponent on 3 October.
  • The Ghanaian Chronicle gave 15:00 as the kick-off time for the Sunday games it listed, including Medeama's trip to Debibi. No other report has confirmed the time.
  • According to The Ghanaian Chronicle, Medeama have not lost in their four league games so far, beginning with a 1-1 draw at Vision FC on 19 September, and Hearts of Oak lost for the first time this term, to Karela United, the previous weekend. These match details were carried by that report alone.
  • SportsWorldGhana listed more appointees for each game, such as a fourth official, a match commissioner and a media officer at the ground. Hassim Yakubu, Osei Koranteng and Micheal Akomeah hold those roles for Kotoko v Karela. These details were carried by that report alone.
  • SportsWorldGhana also named assistant referees for Aduana v Swedru (Sulemana Salau Deen and Micheal Alugmi) and for Debibi v Medeama (Seth Abletor and Richard Nartey). MyNewsGH did not list them.

Why it matters for Ghana

Referee appointments settle who will control some of the league's most-watched games, including Kotoko's home match in Kumasi and Hearts of Oak's trip to the University of Ghana Stadium. Supporters and clubs in Kumasi, Tema, Accra and smaller towns such as Kpando and Kukurantumi can now plan around the officials and venues listed for the weekend, though the date of the Hearts of Oak game is still reported differently.
